Argus DVR is a video capturing program which works with USB cameras, IP cameras and video capture cards. It is controllable remotely without the requirement of a remote monitor, keyboard or mouse making it possible to hide the setup. The program has the unique ability to overcome full disk errors by cycling the recording, meaning it will start from the beginning of the file and record over the oldest material.
Argus has added new features to this software which include the possiblity of recording only when motion is detected, using special face recognition technology or simply on a schedule. It can use multiple capture devices (ie. cameras) to keep up multiple areas being monitored.
The program finishes off its long list of features by using password protection to keep prying eyes away from the video it has captured. The saved video can be searched by date and time or by face recognition.
Compatibility and License
This download is licensed as shareware for the Windows operating system from video capture software and can be used as a free trial until the trial period ends (after an unspecified number of days). The Argus Surveillance 4.0 demo is available to all software users as a free download with potential restrictions and is not necessarily the full version of this software. We have determined Argus Surveillance to have reached end of life and no further updates are to be expected. on newer versions of Windows like Windows 11 and Windows 10 but more likely to be stable on older versions of the operating system with Vista and XP coming to mind. It runs on both 32-bit and 64-bit systems with no dedicated 64-bit download provided.
